CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS

What is an Adjustment? An adjustment is a specifically applied force to a joint that may exhibit a decrease in normal motion. An adjustment is used to restore normal motion, decrease pain and decrease muscle tightness. The adjustment is applied using either the Doctor’s hands and sometimes with the use of an instrument known as an Activator.

  • Electro Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive approach to treating acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons and joints. ESWT works by targeting shock waves directly to the area triggering pain. Initially developed to break up kidney stones, research shows that many orthopedic injuries improve with ESWT. This non-invasive procedure does not involve needles or surgery. ESWT utilizes acoustic waves to target tissue at varying depths to compress and manipulate tissue resulting in a focused and precise deep tissue massage. The results of the mechanical stimulus delivered by ESWT can lead to increased circulation and pain relief– key components in the healing process.

The mechanism of action is based on shockwaves interrupting pain pathways of the inflamed nerves at cellular levels. This leads to the restoration of healthy nerve function and promotes new blood vessel growth to facilitate natural healing. It is used to treat many orthopedic conditions, including plantar fasciitis (heel spurs), patellar tendonitis (jumper’s knee), lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow), shoulder tendinitis, bone inflammation associated with arthritis, stress and non-union fractures, acute muscle strains/tears and much more.

  • Laser therapy is a non-invasive technique to help reduce pain and inflammation. Laser therapy can be safely used as an adjunct or replacement for pharmaceutical drugs. This pain relief treatment is FDA cleared and enables patients to have an alternative to drugs and surgery.

Laser therapy treatments last between 5 and 10 minutes depending on the condition being treated. Laser therapy treatments must be administered directly to the skin, as laser light cannot penetrate through layers of clothing. You will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered.

Deep Tissue Laser Therapy accelerates your body’s own natural healing process through photo-bio-stimulation. Laser therapy provides concrete benefits to your patients and your practice. Laser therapy is effective in treating chronic conditions, acute conditions and post-surgical pain.

Laser Therapy allows you to provide your patients with a diverse portfolio of options when determining the best way to approach an injury challenge. This unique therapy can be used as…

    • An adjunct to prescription drugs

    •  substitute for surgery

    • A pre-surgery treatment

    •  post-surgery treatment to accelerate healing

    • A long-term pain management system

    • Acute injury treatment

Laser therapy has been adopted as an essential pain management tool by athletic trainers in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, FIFA and Olympic teams. LiteCure Medical is the preferred laser therapy manufacturer of professional trainers because it delivers consistent results. Elite athletes consistently rejoin the team faster when this energizing treatment is part of the treatment plan.

  • We use ultrasound to heat your muscles and the surrounding tissues to reduce muscle spasm, reduce pain, increase blood flow, increasing metabolism and healing, decrease joint stiffness, and to increase the flexibility of scar tissue that may be present in injured tissues.

There are three primary benefits to ultrasound. The first is the speeding up of the healing process from the increase in blood flow in the treated area. The second is the decrease in pain from the reduction of swelling and edema. The third is the gentle massage of muscles tendons and/ or ligaments in the treated area because no strain is added and any scar tissue is softened.

  • This is a technique to reduce the pressure on the nerves that exit your spinal column. By carefully separating (distracting) your spinal joints, we are able to increase the size of the “hole” from which the nerve exits. This takes the pressure off the nerve, reducing or eliminating pain, numbness, and tingling as well as relieves stress to the disc and joint.

  • We use it to apply a mild electrical current into the tissues of your body. This electrical current causes your nerves to activate and your muscles to contract in a safe and controlled manner. We use electrical stim to control pain, swelling, muscle spasm, and depending upon how we set it up it also has effects similar to ice or heat.
